Generate Discord-ready usernames for any community type. All names use only alphanumeric characters and underscores (2–32 chars) — exactly what Discord requires since removing the #0000 discriminator system in 2023. Enable Squad Name mode to generate a matching set for your whole crew.

For most of Discord's history, usernames weren't required to be unique. Every account had a 4-digit discriminator tag appended (like Username#4237), which meant many people could share the same display name and be distinguished by their tag. In May 2023, Discord removed the discriminator system entirely and migrated to globally unique usernames — similar to Instagram or Twitter. This was a significant shift: your username is now the primary way people find and reference you across the entire platform, not just within a shared server.
The new system makes username selection more competitive. Good short names in popular gaming vocabulary were claimed quickly in the months after the migration. If you're setting up a new account or want to change a username you've had since the discriminator era, you're entering a more crowded namespace than the old system implied. The generator accounts for this by offering longer, more specific combinations alongside shorter ones — and by offering community-type word pools that produce vocabulary authentic to each Discord community rather than generic words that were claimed years ago.
Discord servers vary enormously in culture. A name that fits a competitive FPS server (tactical, deadeye, flank, clutch) would feel out of place in a cozy indie gaming server (pixel, craft, cozy, grove) or a study group (notes, thesis, flashcard, annotate). The community type selector lets you match the vocabulary of your name to the culture of the servers you actually use. Gaming has a sub-genre filter because the vocabulary differences between FPS, RPG, MOBA, Battle Royale, and Indie are large enough to matter.
Squad Name mode generates 4–6 thematically related names at once rather than 12 independent results. The names come from the same word pool, so they share vocabulary while being distinct handles. This is useful when a group of friends is joining a server together and wants names that feel like a set without being identical — a crew where everyone has a handle built from the same thematic vocabulary signals group identity without requiring matching prefixes or suffixes.
