I created this page so you can generate Spanish names that actually follow how Spanish naming works, not just a first and last name. Spanish names may contain two surnames, one from the paternal and maternal side, which makes them unique compared to American or Filipino names, since the child usually inherits the last name of the father in these cultures.
In Spanish culture, the first name is usually followed by two surnames. The first comes from the father's side, and the second from the mother's side. For example, for Filipinos, Martina Arias Iglesias means her middle name is Arias (her mother's maiden name), and her surname is Iglesias, but in Spanish culture her surname is Arias Iglesias. Arias comes from her mother, and Iglesias from her father.
To get the most out of this generator, make use of the filters. Users can choose between 1 and 50 names, with Male, Female, or Gender-Neutral options.
Choose between a compound first name (basically two first names), a single first name or last name, a compound last name (basically combines the surnames of the father and mother), or a two-surname full name.
Users can choose from five naming presets: classic, modern, traditional, saint-inspired, and nature-inspired to help further narrow options. This tool isn’t meant to generate real Spanish names, but it generates names from a pool of real given names (first names) and surnames (last names) from Spain. Note that the tool may generate a full name that matches a real person, but that is not its intention.
Yes, you can. If you wish to generate full names with two surnames, select the ‘Two-surname full name’ option from the name type drop-down menu or select the ‘Full name’ option.
The first option generates random names and may include one or two surnames (last names). This depends on the filter applied to the surname. The second parameter will always generate two surnames after the first name.
