The username generator is a tool that helps users generate usernames without cycling through permutations of their name just to find something acceptable for a website. No more guesswork of typing 'yourname_' or 'yourname_1234'; this tool does it for you by leveraging a set of rules and a pool of words.

Short usernames are better than long ones. In general, you want to choose one short enough to easily remember and say out loud. Most websites allow usernames of 12 characters or less. Longer usernames can also exist, but a short, unique, easy-to-remember username is better. There are always exceptions, so this can be case-by-case.
Don't substitute in 0 for O's or 1 for l's (e.g., if your username is YourName0, people will try to type in YourName when they hear you say it out loud). These handles look great until someone tries to type out your username and it doesn't work.

Instead of only generating a totally random username, our tool will create a lot of usernames that are based on the rule set and style pool you chose, and then also include a lot of words that start with the same letters as your seed word, or words that otherwise sound similar to your seed word.
Note that if there are not enough words in the style pool that start with the same letters as your input word (i.e., seed), that tool will simply fall back to using the full style pool for results. Your input word helps to focus the results of the tool towards results that fit the same general "theme" that you're looking for, rather than just generating a totally random set of results.
